I was looking back tonight at some of my photos on Flickr captured during our caching trips and noticed some photos of Arch Rock. It was a year ago this past weekend that we took a couple days off work to cache our way to and from Mackinac Island, spend a couple nights in the Grand Hotel, attend the Spring Fling on Mackinaw Island, and find our 700th cache. It was something of a homecoming for the two of us as it was August 28, 2005 that Firefly03 hit her first cache on the island during our three day getaway to Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island. At the time we were thrilled to have found four caches for the day (one virtual, two traditionals, and an earthcache). The photo above was taken at the location of that earthcache during the 2007 trip. That same event was held for the second time last weekend, but this year we spent the weekend caching with friends and doing our first night cache together (Firefly03 had gone for her first night cache with the girls at the GeoChicks weekend about three weeks ago). In this last year though we'd managed to double our find count from that first twenty months of caching. I wonder what things will be like this time next year.
